ABOUT THE RECORD COLLECTORS CLUB

The seeds were sown for the idea for this project in early 2018 after scrolling through Instagram one evening and catching a glimpse of a fellow record collectors brightly coloured storage. I contacted him about the idea of conducting an interview about his collection and we started conversing a little. Then life got in the way!

They say that good things can happen in the midst of chaos, and so when the UK was plunged into lockdown in March 2020 due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, I picked this idea up again and the rest was history I suppose!

Instagram is a fantastic platform for the vinyl community to showcase their interests in music, records, culture etc but I wanted to dig deeper than just photos! I wanted to know where they buy records? Why they buy records? What made them start buying records? And so The Record Collectors Club was born!

Many, many collectors have been in contact about being featured for this project and the interviews have now spanned two coffee table books featuring collectors from across the globe!
